SCHIZOPHRENIA

 

Schizophrenia is a strange disorder of paranoia and delusions. Its victims suffer from a dysfunctional virtual reality where they experience circumstances which did not happen in the real world. They hear disembodied voices, animals talk to them, and they remember experiences which never took place. For them, the experiences are very real, so when they discuss them with others (and the others do not know what they are talking about); they get paranoid (as if the world is conspiring against them). They know what happened to them and cannot understand why others say different.

Schizophrenia seems to stem from a breakdown in the wall of sleep which separates the dreaming aconscious from the awake conscious. Thus, a schizophrenic is dreaming while awake. It is a frightening plight caused by a genetic flaw which becomes a brain flaw (which becomes a mental flaw). We all assume what we experience is real. What if it is not? How would you know?
